50 or so films to show your kids before they’re 13

Family movie night

Given we’re shivering through winter school holidays in much of Australia, it’s the perfect time to make some popcorn, snuggle under a blanket and create a family movie night (or afternoon!).

These films are not in any particular order. These are the result of The Sunshine Collective grown ups and kids (including cousins, nephews and nieces) all casting their votes for their favourites.

(My son also wanted me to add that he voted for Daddy Day Care and ‘anything with The Rock in it’ – but mum said no.)

Some of these have G ratings, some are PG – we’ll leave it to you to decide which ones are appropriate for your kids. We’ve loosely categorized them to help you choose the ones that suit your family best. Hopefully the following list gives you some ideas for a few family movie nights or at least gives you a few hours of sanity in the school holidays. What are your favourites?
